Malaria and other infectious diseases

In some countries, malaria is an endemic disease, with the largest burden in sub-Saharan Africa. In some countries it is seasonal and so analysis using Full Blood Count (FBC) tests could be used across the population for spatial and temporal modelling. This could take the form of historical analysis, as well as measuring transmission intensity. It could also prove to be a useful test for people without symptoms. Dengue is another endemic disease that can take the form of epidemics. Population-level FBC analysis could be used as an early warning system for Dengue fever.
