BloodCounts!, in partnership with Haem-Match, visited the Haematology department at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) to learn more about sickle cell disease. We met with patients, donors, and clinicians to understand the experience of someone who has sickle cell disease, how it affects their life, and available treatments.
We also visited AutoLab and The Doctors Laboratory (TDL) to learn about how they process their blood samples from UCLH using Full Blood Count machines.
Thank you to Dr Sara Trompeter for organising this insightful day, and to all the people we met.
